About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the Nurse in Charge/Manager to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered. You will lead and guide Support Workers and Care Assistants, monitor their performance, and provide feedback to the Nurse in Charge.
You will also work closely with residents to meet their personal, emotional, and social needs, helping them maintain their independence and dignity. This includes assisting with personal care, mobility, daily activities, and outings while fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Support and supervise Care Assistants, ensuring delegated tasks are carried out effectively and reporting any concerns to the Nurse in Charge.
- Resident Care: Assist with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities while promoting independence and dignity.
- Activity Coordination: Organize and participate in activities such as crafts, games, outings, and skill development to enhance residents’ quality of life.
- Health & Safety: Ensure residents’ safety, report hazards, and maintain hygiene standards.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and maintain accurate records.
- Family Collaboration: Communicate with residents’ families, ensuring confidentiality and providing updates as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of care plans, risk assessments, incidents, and residents’ progress.
- Training & Development: Participate in staff training, meetings, and appraisals to improve team performance.
