Job Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for a National Volunteering Manager to join a leading charitable organization. This fully remote role requires an experienced professional to lead and implement an organisation-wide volunteering strategy, ensuring the effective management and development of volunteers.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about volunteering, workforce development, and community engagement. You will be responsible for enhancing the contribution of volunteers, creating structured support systems, and driving engagement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of a national volunteering strategy to increase engagement and impact.
  • Promote the value of volunteering by showcasing its benefits and organisational initiatives.
  • Develop partnerships with charities and organisations to share best practices in volunteer management.
  • Establish frameworks for high-quality support and volunteer development.
  • Create performance indicators to measure volunteering impact, diversity, and headcount growth.
  • Implement recognition programs for volunteers, including skill development and accreditation.
  • Ensure compliance with volunteer policies, conducting audits and thorough checks.
  • Engage with local and central government stakeholders, building strong communication networks.
  • Maintain Investors in Volunteering accreditation for the organisation.
  • Collaborate with the People and Organisation Division to integrate volunteers into workforce planning.

Who You Will Work With

Internal Contacts: Inclusion Team, Corporate Fundraising, Senior Managers, People Partners, and Subject-Matter Experts.
External Contacts: Office of the Third Sector, Volunteer Development Agencies, Network of National Volunteer-Involving Agencies.

Management & Working Pattern

  • Line management of one Volunteering Officer.
  • Flexible working: 25 hours per week (considered across 4 or 5 days, between 09:00 – 16:00).
