Job Summary
The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is seeking a passionate Assistant Practitioner to join the Stroke and Neuro Rehabilitation Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team. This role involves working across both inpatient and community settings, supporting patients through specialist treatments and rehabilitation programs. The ideal candidate should be flexible, capable of individual and group patient work, and keen to develop their expertise in stroke and neuro rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support patients in achieving rehabilitation goals through tailored treatment programs.
- Conduct stroke and neurology-specific therapeutic interventions under the supervision of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
- Act as a key worker for assigned patients, providing feedback to clinicians.
- Engage in activities such as gardening, craft, pottery, and art therapy to support patient rehabilitation.
- Participate in group work within a clinical setting.
- Travel to community settings to provide care, requiring a full UK driving licence and vehicle for work use.
Person Specification
Essential Experience:
- Substantial, relevant experience in a therapy or rehabilitation role.
- Ability to work independently while following clinical direction.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in community healthcare settings.
Essential Qualifications:
- Foundation degree in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
Desirable Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Care or an equivalent competency-based qualification.
Essential Skills:
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Additional Requirements
- Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check required.
- Compliance with UK Visa and Immigration requirements, including presenting a criminal record certificate if applicable.
