Requirements

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience 
• Proven experience with SQL Availability Clustering 
• Proven experience as a SQL DBA, managing mission-critical databases 
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (desirable) 
• Hands-on experience with API-based integrations and middleware (desirable)

About the Role
The Trust is recruiting an expert in SQL to administer, monitor, maintain, and assist in the development of the Trust’s SQL databases/instances. This senior role will help inform technical architectural decisions around setup, high availability, performance, and suitability. You will lead on SQL setups, both in the cloud and on-premise, and implement best practices for maintenance plans, backups, high availability, and performance of the Trust’s SQL databases.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL databases 
• Lead on SQL setups, both cloud and on-premise 
• Implement best practices for maintenance plans, backups, and high availability 
• Provide technical support and advice on SQL implementations 
• Collaborate with application developers to design database schemas, stored procedures, and functions 
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation 
• Participate in the education and training of new staff members 
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures
