Requirements

  • Educated to degree standard in Software Development or related discipline, or a minimum of 2 years relevant demonstrable experience 
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of HL7 
  • Good understanding of the Intersystems Healthshare Health Connect suite of integration products 
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and experience of resolving complex issues 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Full driving licence (required)

About the Role
As an Advanced Integration Engineer, you will be a technical lead for the development and management of integration services for University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust’s clinical and business systems. This role involves ensuring that all integration services are effectively planned, specified, implemented, and maintained. You will support the Integration Team Manager with project management of IT projects and assist with the planning and delivery of the OneDevon EPR programme, Integrated Care Partnership, ICS, and other regional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage integration services for clinical and business systems 
  • Support the Integration Team Manager with project management 
  • Ensure effective planning, specification, implementation, and maintenance of integration services 
  • Lead on SQL setups, both cloud and on-premise 
  • Implement best practices for maintenance plans, backups, and high availability 
  • Provide technical support and advice on SQL implementations 
  • Collaborate with application developers to design database schemas, stored procedures, and functions 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation 
  • Participate in the education and training of new staff members 
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures
