Requirements

  • Masters degree or relevant training or experience in information/SQL development/business intelligence field 
  • Evidence of professional development 
  • IT Qualification 
  • Knowledge of information management processes within the NHS 
  • Understanding of NHS datasets, data sources, data flows, and data definitions 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience writing SQL 
  • Experience managing/supervising junior members of the team 
  • Experience using Microsoft SQL Server BI Stack 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Full driving licence (required)

About the Role
As a Senior BI Developer, you will be responsible for the development, deployment, ongoing management, and evolution of the Trust’s data warehouse environment. This role involves working with key Divisional staff, Finance, other Trust staff, and external stakeholders to provide specialist advice and guidance on matters pertaining to the Trust’s data warehouse. You will oversee finance developments, develop business intelligence reports, and ensure the data warehouse enables greater and wider use of data for Business Intelligence and SLR.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee finance developments, including SUS, PbR, SLAM, and HRG groupers 
  • Develop business intelligence reports to meet the aims of the Business Intelligence Strategy 
  • Ensure the data warehouse enables greater and wider use of data for Business Intelligence and SLR 
  • Work with users to resolve problems and issues with Business Intelligence software 
  • Aid in the provision of timely and quality assured Monthly Management Information and statutory Korner returns 
  • Develop reporting integration solutions between multiple operational systems using SQL 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation 
  • Participate in the education and training of new staff members 
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures
