Job Summary
Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is seeking an IT Infrastructure Manager to oversee critical IT services supporting patient care and staff operations. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary IT infrastructure team, managing cloud-based and on-premise services, networks, and cybersecurity. This role is central to the Trust’s digital transformation strategy and requires a balance of hands-on technical expertise and leadership skills.
Main Responsibilities
- Managing IT Services: Ensure high availability, resilience, and security of IT services.
- Leading the IT Infrastructure Team: Develop and manage a skilled team handling cloud, on-premise, and network services.
- IT Standards & Compliance: Establish and maintain IT infrastructure standards and procedures, seeking external accreditation where applicable.
- Technical Operations: Oversee the analysis, design, deployment, and operations of IT infrastructure, including server-side software, hardware, networking, and cloud computing.
- Network & Security Management: Manage WAN, LAN, Firewalls, Wireless Access Points, and ensure optimal performance and security of the Trust’s Azure tenant.
Essential Requirements
Education & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant subject OR equivalent IT management experience.
- Formal Microsoft certifications (e.g., Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, VMware, SCCM, firewall management).
Experience:
- Team & Resource Management: Delegating daily activities, workstreams, and project oversight.
- Critical IT Service Management: Experience managing and delivering mission-critical IT services.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of digital systems, cybersecurity, data centre management, and performance monitoring.
- Infrastructure Development: Building and configuring virtual/physical servers, email services, databases, web servers, and SAN storage.
- Project Delivery: Proven track record in delivering large-scale, complex IT projects.
Skills & Abilities:
- Solution design, costing, deployment, and support.
- Managing change in a technical environment.
- Providing on-call support as needed.
