Job Summary
Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Dietitian to join its dynamic and well-established dietetic team. This role offers an opportunity for newly qualified or experienced dietitians to develop their clinical skills across both inpatient and community settings while maintaining a balanced workload.
The Health Board fully supports continuing professional development (CPD), supervision, and career progression, providing protected time for individual learning and skill enhancement. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across different sites in line with personal development goals.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide dietetic care in a variety of clinical settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and community settings.
- Gain experience in specialist areas such as health improvement, preoperative care, paediatrics, mental health, eating disorders, and diabetes.
- Apply evidence-based practice to develop and improve dietetic services.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care and nutrition plans.
- Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring effective prioritisation and service delivery.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications & Knowledge:
- Degree in Dietetics with HCPC registration.
- Strong clinical dietetic knowledge and skills in adult dietetics.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice, national policies, and guidelines related to dietetics.
- Effective organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload.
- Teaching and presentation skills to deliver dietetic education.
Experience:
- Clinical practice placements in general and specialist areas, including inpatient and outpatient settings.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to apply current and emerging evidence-based practice.
- Strong caseload management and prioritisation skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
- Recognised IT qualification.
- Welsh language skills (Level 1).
- Additional clinical or healthcare-related experience.
- Local knowledge of Hywel Dda Health Board areas.
