Job Overview
- Role: Customer Service Specialist
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (between 8 AM and 7 PM) – No weekend work
- Work Location: Onsite only (not work from home)
- Start Date: Ongoing weekly start dates
- Training: 11 days (9 AM – 6 PM) + 10 days nesting period (Full attendance required, no holidays allowed within the first 4 weeks)
Job Responsibilities
- Handle inbound calls from students and their family members regarding loan applications, eligibility, payments, and funding.
- Provide accurate information and guidance to assist students in their financial journey.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-volume contact centre environment.
- Utilize multiple complex systems to retrieve and update information efficiently.
- Maintain quality and average handling time targets while delivering excellent customer service.
- Handle challenging calls with patience and professionalism.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with different people.
- Ability to learn and engage in virtual training sessions.
- Strong multi-tasking skills to navigate between different systems quickly and accurately.
- Resilience and adaptability to handle customer queries, including difficult situations.
- Flexibility, good timekeeping, and reliability to meet business needs.
- Ability to work in a confidential and professional manner.
- A secure, private working area with a stable internet connection (for remote support during training and nesting).
Pre-Employment Checks
- ID Requirement: Passport or Birth Certificate, National Insurance Number, and proof of address (dated within the last 3 months).
- Background Checks:
- DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check – employer covers the cost.
- Credit check – must not have outstanding CCJs or bankruptcy (those on a repayment plan are considered).
- Right to Work in the UK is required.
