Job Summary
Cost Less Carpets is seeking a skilled Flooring Installer to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in flooring installation, the ability to read schematics and blueprints, and proficiency in using hand and power tools to ensure high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Install various flooring materials, including carpet, vinyl, laminate, LVT, and hardwood.
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to determine layout and installation requirements.
- Prepare surfaces for flooring installation, including cleaning, levelling, and repairing with plywood or latex screed.
- Use hand tools (knives, saws, hammers, chisels) and power tools (drills, sanders, nail guns) to cut, shape, and fit flooring materials.
- Ensure all installations meet safety standards and quality expectations.
- Work efficiently within a team environment to complete projects on schedule.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout the installation process.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in reading schematics and working according to specifications.
- Strong skills in hand tools (knives, saws, hammers, chisels).
- Familiarity with power tools (drills, sanders, nail guns).
- Experience in flooring installation.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in painting and finishing techniques is advantageous.
