Requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above, or Functional Skills equivalent
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in healthcare, or equivalent relevant qualification
- Strong communication and people skills – written, verbal, non-verbal
- Experience in a rehab or healthcare setting, ideally Band 3 level
- Self-starter attitude with good judgment and adaptability
- Ready to embrace competency development or preceptorship within 12 months
- Comfortable managing caseloads and working within an interdisciplinary team
- Computer literacy and safe patient handling skills
Salary Details
Band 3 to Band 4 progression, with apprentice and competency-based routes available. Band 4 direct entry available for qualified candidates. Full-time hours across 7-day working patterns.
About the Role

Whether you’re already working as a Band 3 Therapy Support Worker or looking to step into something more impactful, this Rehab Assistant Practitioner role puts you at the core of patient recovery. Based at the brand-new NRC near Loughborough, you’ll be delivering blended care that draws from both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy in a truly next-gen facility.
You’ll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, working with state-of-the-art rehab tools, gym and hydrotherapy settings, and even outdoor therapy within a 300-acre estate. From supporting health and wellbeing groups to using your skills in real-time recovery, this is hands-on, career-defining work. Sound like a step in the right direction?
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with clinicians across Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy
- Facilitate rehab in gym, hydrotherapy, and health & wellbeing sessions
- Empower patients with practical, real-world recovery plans
- Use advanced equipment and techniques to boost outcomes
- Contribute to interdisciplinary care planning and review
- Manage your own caseload under clinical supervision
- Develop your knowledge through competency frameworks or apprenticeships
- Support and mentor less experienced staff along the way
