Salary Details

This role pays £26,530 to £29,114 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

This isn’t your average support job. You’ll be stepping into a UK job opportunity that blends physiotherapy, mental health, and real human connection. As a Band 4 Physiotherapy Technician, you’ll help design and lead physical activity and therapeutic exercise programmes for adults and older adults facing mental health challenges.

Working closely with experienced physiotherapists and exercise specialists, you’ll deliver one-on-one and group sessions, assess patients, adjust interventions, and track progress. You’ll spend time in the hospital gym, on the wards, and even in the community. Each day brings something new and impactful.

You’ll need a good handle on motivation, risk, and safeguarding – because while exercise is the tool, your empathy is the real driver. From helping someone re-learn movement to simply building trust, your presence will make a genuine difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support physiotherapists in delivering exercise and rehab programmes
  • Carry out delegated interventions independently following care plans
  • Deliver safe sessions in the hospital gym and inpatient units
  • Adapt physical activity plans to suit individuals and monitor progress
  • Provide practical advice to patients, carers, and staff
  • Perform risk assessments and ensure personal and patient safety
  • Assist in personal care during rehabilitation, where appropriate
  • Conduct pre-exercise screening and assess readiness for physical activity
  • Safeguard patients and escalate concerns when needed
  • Contribute to health promotion campaigns and materials
