Requirements

  • Level 2 English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in healthcare or equivalent like A-levels or BTEC
  • Hands-on experience in a healthcare setting
  • Confidence managing a personal caseload
  • Team spirit and great interpersonal skills
  • Able to handle fast-paced, unpredictable situations with care
  • Comfortable using IT tools like email, Word, Excel

Salary Details

Starting from £26,530 up to £29,114, based on experience. This includes NHS pension, holidays, and other Trust benefits.

About the Role

This isn’t just any dietetic technician role. It’s a chance to directly impact patient outcomes in Nottingham’s vibrant health system. Based across two major hospital campuses, you’ll support people with complex nutritional needs, following agreed care plans, and referring on when needed. From coordinating nutritional products to delivering cardiac rehab education, this role blends clinical knowledge, people skills, and proactive thinking.

You’ll be seen and supported—not just by dietitians, but by an entire multi-disciplinary team who’ll value your input. You’ll run your own caseloads, take part in training healthcare staff, and play a hands-on role in driving better nutrition in hospital care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and monitor patients with poor nutritional intake
  • Implement and adjust care plans under supervision
  • Deliver educational sessions such as cardiac rehabilitation
  • Train health staff on nutrition screening (MUST)
  • Order and manage delivery of nutritional products
  • Use digital systems for record-keeping and communication
  • Support ward teams and respond to evolving patient needs
