Requirements

  • 3 GCSEs or equivalent – foundation qualifications to build on
  • Experience in healthcare or funeral services – any exposure to care environments is welcomed
  • Strong communication skills – must be able to handle sensitive conversations with compassion
  • Basic computer skills – email, data entry, and documentation tasks
  • Manual dexterity and stamina – able to perform hands-on tasks and lift equipment safely
  • Calm under pressure – works well during long or high-pressure situations
  • Great eye for detail – precise, methodical, and thorough in their approach

About the Role

As a Trainee or Qualified Anatomical Pathology Technician, you’ll be joining a small and expert team responsible for carrying out both routine and complex post-mortem procedures. From preparing the deceased for respectful viewing, to assisting with police identification cases, your work will bring closure and clarity during deeply emotional times.

Key Responsibilities
