Requirements

• Degree in Cyber Security or equivalent work experience
• Industry-recognised certifications like CISMP or CompTIA
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, IPS, and Vulnerability Management tools
• Solid understanding of frameworks like ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials+, and NIS Regulations
• Developed training packages or awareness programs
• Strong communication skills and ability to guide technical/non-technical audiences
• Evidence of hands-on work or personal projects in cyber security
• ITIL Foundation certified

Salary Details

This is a full-time NHS role offering between £37,898 and £45,637 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Cyber Security Specialist will be central to protecting NHS systems from rising digital threats. You’ll work across network security, incident response, and monitoring, helping keep essential services running safely. Every scan, every policy update, every incident you manage will help protect patient data and healthcare services. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to security events
• Develop policies and incident response procedures
• Conduct vulnerability scans and report findings
• Advise on best practices across networks, systems, and applications
• Liaise with external partners to assess compliance
• Support ICT teams and contribute to training content
