Requirements
- Psychology degree – A first or second-class honours degree in psychology
- Keen learner – Evidence of ongoing professional development

Salary Details
This role is paid in line with Band 4 on the NHS Agenda for Change scale, which includes annual pay progression, pension scheme access, and enhanced benefits for NHS employees.
About the Role
Here’s a role where you’ll never be stuck in one place. As an Assistant Psychologist, you’ll rotate across several specialist services, including chronic fatigue, post-COVID fatigue, cancer support, respiratory care, occupational health, and diabetes management. Working shoulder to shoulder with clinical psychologists and allied health professionals, you’ll deliver low-intensity interventions to help clients better understand and manage long-term health conditions.
From data entry to group facilitation and audit projects, there’s room to grow and plenty to learn. It’s hands-on, people-first work that gives you real insight into UK job opportunities within the NHS.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of low-intensity interventions for long-term conditions
- Help clients adjust to physical health diagnoses and improve coping strategies
- Contribute to psychological assessments and treatment plans
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams across hospital and community settings
- Assist with audit, evaluation, and research projects
- Deliver group interventions and support teaching activities
- Travel to clinics, homes, and health bases across the region
