About the Role
This isn’t just a training placement — it’s a springboard into a real career. As an Apprentice Partnerships Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital part in helping Southampton City Council’s Partnership Service run smoothly. The team supports major safeguarding efforts across the city — from children and vulnerable adults to community safety — working closely with charities, public bodies, and faith organisations.
You’ll be right in the thick of it. From day one, you’ll assist with organising meetings, prepping documents, and keeping essential admin systems ticking along. Your job will make a direct difference to how quickly and effectively the team can respond to serious community issues. You’ll work under the guidance of experienced colleagues and the independent scrutineer, helping to coordinate vital work that protects real people, every day.
You’ll also be studying through Kiwi Education, gaining a Level 3 qualification while working a full-time role — no need to sacrifice learning for income.
Key Responsibilities
- Support key partnerships – help the service connect with outside organisations across the city
- Keep things organised – manage admin tasks that keep safeguarding and safety functions moving
- Schedule meetings and prep materials – ensure everyone has what they need to act quickly
- Work with senior leads – support the Independent Scrutineer and Subgroup Chairs with their day-to-day
- Learn and grow – soak up skills in communication, digital systems, and public service operations
Each task feeds directly into protecting people across Southampton — your behind-the-scenes support truly matters.
