Salary Details
The role offers between 63,150 and 73,379 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
About the Role
This role isn’t for someone who waits to be told what to do. It’s for someone who takes the reins, sets the pace, and ensures security isn’t just an afterthought but the foundation of every cloud solution.
As Lead Cloud Security Architect, you’ll help move 80 NHS digital services off 1,600 legacy servers and into the cloud with Azure and GCP. It’s a two-year Cloud Transition Programme, and they need someone who knows their way around automation, open-source tools, IaC, and compliance frameworks.
You won’t be doing this alone. You’ll work alongside a Solution Architect and Cloud Migration Architect, tackling high-stakes challenges, defining standards, and laying the groundwork for the NHS’s digital future.
Key Responsibilities
- Own cloud security architecture for the entire transition project
- Define and roll out cyber security standards for ongoing deployments
- Work hand-in-hand with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues
- Write clear, actionable work packages to drive cloud configurations
- Ensure all platforms meet security, compliance, and operational standards
- Champion automation and open-source tools across engineering teams
- Guide operations and finance teams on performance and cost efficiency
- Support high-profile systems at a national level with an agile mindset
- Be the go-to expert when things get tough and set the tone for delivery
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required to review previous criminal convictions.
