Requirements

  • Formal technical qualification such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
  • Willingness to complete training in group facilitation, computing, and food handling within 12 months
  • Prior experience supporting group or one-to-one sessions in a care or teaching setting
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and note-taking skills

Salary Details

You’ll earn between 31,081 and 33,665 per year, aligned with the NHS Agenda for Change pay structure, plus full NHS benefits.

About the Role

This is a chance to turn your creativity and empathy into something that changes lives. You’ll support recovery-focused therapeutic activities for people experiencing acute mental health challenges. Working side-by-side with Occupational Therapists and clinical staff, you’ll co-facilitate group and one-to-one sessions, help patients rediscover meaningful routines, and encourage their path toward community reintegration.

It’s not just about delivering sessions. You’ll be shaping care plans, contributing to clinical discussions, and acting as a consistent, calming presence in a ward that thrives on teamwork and trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and run creative, social, and therapeutic group activities
  • Help patients understand ward routines and feel more at ease
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and individual clients
  • Support one-to-one activities under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist
  • Contribute to handovers and team discussions that guide patient care
  • Deliver graded activities that support recovery and daily living
