Requirements

  • Educated to GCSE level (Grade C or above in English and Maths) or equivalent
  • Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written skills
  • Proven experience managing busy workloads and meeting deadlines
  • Solid understanding of administrative procedures and data protection principles
  • Proactive, approachable, and solution-focused mindset
  • Desirable: NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration or similar qualification
  • Desirable: Previous NHS or healthcare experience

Salary Details

This Band 4 position pays £33,094 to £36,195 per annum inclusive of HCAS, aligned with the NHS Agenda for Change pay scheme.

About the Role

As an Administration Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the Respiratory team within the Medical Specialties Division. Each day brings variety as you help organise patient pathways, maintain communication channels, and ensure key targets are met.

You’ll liaise closely with clinical and administrative colleagues, acting as the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and GPs. Your initiative will keep everything running smoothly, from scheduling appointments to troubleshooting issues that affect care timelines. This role suits someone who thrives on structure, multitasking, and making a difference through efficient organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administrative processes that keep patient pathways on track and within waiting time standards
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, GPs, and staff to ensure seamless service
  • Identify issues early and escalate them to the Pathway Supervisor for prompt resolution
  • Support the wider clinical team to meet targets and improve workflow efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with NHS data and confidentiality standards
  • Contribute ideas for improving service delivery and resource management
