Job Summary
Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity to join its Business Intelligence team as an Advanced Information Analyst. The role will focus on developing data warehouse solutions and Tableau business intelligence visualizations, transforming raw data into actionable intelligence for performance management, decision-making, and service improvement.
The successful candidate will play a key role in operational transformation, enhancing productivity and efficiency across all operational divisions. Reporting to the Head of Operational Intelligence, the role includes delivering a rolling programme of demand and capacity modelling.
This position requires advanced SQL and data visualization skills to provide technical expertise in analyzing, interpreting, and presenting complex data to senior operational, clinical, and executive teams. The role is hybrid, requiring two days per week in the office to attend face-to-face meetings and support on-site colleagues.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide advanced analytical and technical expertise, supporting operational productivity and efficiency.
- Work closely with clinical and operational teams to define complex reporting requirements.
- Develop and implement Tableau dashboards to enhance decision-making and service improvement.
- Present complex data insights in a clear and concise format to senior staff, including the executive team.
- Apply demand and capacity modelling to optimize healthcare operations.
- Use advanced SQL techniques to extract and manipulate large datasets.
- Work on multiple priorities, managing short-notice requests efficiently.
- Provide leadership and motivate teams to ensure tasks are delivered on time.
- Use problem-solving skills to drive innovation and improve data-driven decision-making.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential:
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a senior analytical role.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable:
- Membership of a Fed-IP recognized professional body (e.g., AphA, BCS, IHRIM, CILIP).
Experience
Essential:
- Substantial experience in a senior information services role.
- Experience in demand and capacity modelling.
- Proven ability to develop BI dashboards (preferably in Tableau).
- Experience analyzing large, complex datasets.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries.
- Experience working across various disciplines and seniority levels.
- Experience supporting business planning or service improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Desirable:
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Reporting Services (SSRS).
