About the Role
You join a warm close knit SLT team at Birmingham Children’s Hospital where acute work changes from hour to hour. You help children with complex dysphagia needs in their most vulnerable moments and guide families through feeding challenges that shape daily life. You also help build a new outpatient service supported by charitable funding. This service bridges the gap after discharge so families do not feel lost while waiting for community SLT. You will offer assessments and practical advice that can lift anxiety and protect feeding progress during this critical period.
Your work blends hands on care with thoughtful planning. You discuss cases with the MDT who rely on you to share clear guidance. You use evidence based approaches and track outcomes that demonstrate how your decisions move young people toward safer feeding and better communication. If you enjoy roles where teamwork fuels progress you may find this environment inspiring.
