Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) including English/Welsh and Maths, or equivalent experience.
  • Skilled in coordinating, planning, and prioritising workloads.
  • Confident communicator with strong negotiation and organisational abilities.
  • Experience monitoring activity, resolving issues, and maintaining service quality.
  • Able to travel between sites and manage office-based duties.
  • Understanding of performance data for quality monitoring.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
  • Welsh language ability is desirable.

Salary Details

Starting at Band 3, £25,313 to £26,999 per annum, in line with NHS Agenda for Change pay scheme.

About the Role

As an Ambulance Care Hospital Coordinator, you’ll be the central point of contact connecting patients, clinics, and transport teams. Working within the Journey Coordination Centre, you’ll oversee patient journeys, ensuring every trip runs safely, efficiently, and with compassion. You’ll play a vital role in supporting oncology transport and coordinating information between departments, helping people get to the right place at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor daily patient transport operations to maintain quality care.
  • Liaise with hospital departments, clinics, and transport providers to manage live patient journeys.
  • Resolve service issues promptly to reduce patient stress and delay.
  • Maintain accurate performance data and assist in service improvement planning.
  • Support the Enhanced Hubs team in delivering customer-focused patient transport across Wales.
  • Build strong communication bridges between oncology patients, units, and control teams.
