Requirements
- Strong PowerBI development experience – across testing, modelling, and deployment
- Expertise in DAX, data warehousing, and dimensional modelling
- Ability to create, debug, and document complex technical solutions
- Great at translating business needs into technical specs
- Knowledge of NHS datasets, reporting standards, and governance

- Postgraduate qualification or equivalent real-world experience
Salary Details
This role offers a competitive salary between £46,148 to £52,809, based on experience. It comes with all the standard NHS benefits including pension and annual leave entitlements.
About the Role
The Analytics Engineer is right at the heart of Mid Yorks’ analytics revolution. It’s not just about coding dashboards. It’s about making NHS data digestible, usable, and genuinely helpful. From managing PowerBI Premium Capacity to building reusable data models and debugging urgent issues, this role keeps the gears turning. It’s technical. It’s strategic. And it’s critical to the Trust’s mission.
You’ll get to build from scratch, clean up what exists, and mentor others in best practices. You’ll be shaping a supportive work environment where knowledge sharing and team learning are just how things are done.
This isn’t just another dashboard gig – it’s a chance to disrupt how analytics are used in the NHS.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, test, and maintain analytics solutions in PowerBI
- Design relational and dimensional models for PowerBI
- Align data models with the Data Warehouse
- Manage PowerBI Gateways, Dashboards, and Premium Capacity
- Translate user needs into technical plans
- Apply DevOps principles to analytics development
- Document workflows clearly using diagrams and house styles
- Keep up with NHS data standards and suggest improvements
- Mentor colleagues and promote best practices
- Contribute to team sprints and meet deadlines
- Triage and fix urgent bugs in analytics products
