Job Summary

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is offering an opportunity for a Band 4 Anticoagulation Support Worker to join their team. The role involves coordinating and supporting the Anticoagulation Clinic, ensuring high-quality service for patients. The position includes point-of-care (POC) testing and administrative support, requiring both independent work and teamwork within a multidisciplinary setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the smooth operation of the Anticoagulation Clinic, including POC testing.
  • Provide administrative support, including record-keeping and data entry.
  • Handle patient interactions with a professional and confident attitude.
  • Use or learn clinical programs such as RAID/DAWN and Cerner.
  • Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Person Specification

Education & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Certificate or qualification in Health and Social Care.
  • General education qualifications (GCSE/A-levels or equivalent).

Desirable:

  • IT/Computer training.
Knowledge & Experience

Essential:

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in an anticoagulation clinic.
  • Phlebotomy certification and experience with point-of-care testing.

Desirable:

  • Administrative or management experience.
  • Understanding of patient care principles.
  • Customer care training.
Skills, Abilities & Attributes

Essential:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • IT literacy with good word processing skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work across different departments.
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently, managing workload effectively.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Cerner or other patient data systems.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations.
  • Willingness to expand knowledge and training.
