Sanctuary Personnel, a leading and innovative recruitment agency, is delighted to announce a new permanent position for a Family Support Worker at a Family Assessment Centre in Great Malvern. This full-time role offers an attractive salary of up to £28,000 per year.

As a Family Support Worker, your primary responsibilities will include supporting families in various aspects of daily life and ensuring the safety and welfare of children. You will be instrumental in implementing and monitoring individual family assessment plans, observing family interactions, and recording critical information about child behavior and parental abilities. This role involves working closely with parents, providing them with the skills and confidence to care for their children, and collaborating with professionals like GPs, health visitors, and social workers to offer comprehensive support.

The duties are diverse and impactful. You will provide families with guidance on baby care, feeding, sleeping routines, budgeting, safety, and healthy lifestyle choices. Ensuring the safety of children is central to your work, and you will participate in developing and delivering structured feedback to parents, both during and at the end of each session. Your role will also involve conducting individual and group sessions as outlined in the Family Assessment Plan, and maintaining detailed, evidence-based documentation of all interactions and assessments.

To qualify for this position, you should have an NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce Diploma or an equivalent qualification, or be willing to undertake one. A strong understanding of child development, parenting challenges, and experience in multi-agency working are essential. Leadership skills and the ability to work sensitively and non-judgmentally with parents are also crucial.
