Equal Education Partners is seeking Academic Tutors of Artificial Intelligence for their prestigious 2024 Summer School Programme. As an Academic Tutor, you’ll work with small groups of motivated students, ages 13-18, guiding them through an engaging and enriching learning experience. Your role will involve planning and delivering comprehensive lessons that not only meet educational outcomes but also leave a lasting impact on the students.
The summer school runs from July 1st to August 17th, 2024, in two-week sessions. The available sessions are:
- July 8th – July 19th
- July 22nd – August 2nd
- August 5th – August 16th
Tutors will be compensated at a minimum rate of £55 per hour, with accommodation provided if needed. Your responsibilities will include designing and delivering a two-week course, complete with interactive and challenging lessons for four hours each day, Monday to Friday. You will also need to provide a detailed course overview, including resource requirements and lesson plans, prior to the program’s start.
In addition to teaching, you’ll be responsible for preparing students with necessary tasks and materials in advance, maintaining accurate attendance records, and offering detailed feedback for each student’s progress. You will also help each student with a personal project, providing one-on-one support to ensure successful completion.
To be considered for this role, you should have proven experience in tutoring or supervising undergraduate students, familiarity with the Oxbridge style of small group learning, and the ability to teach a diverse range of topics within your subject area. Ideally, you should be a current PhD candidate or have an advanced degree from a prestigious institution such as Oxford or Cambridge.
Experience with residential summer schools, teaching students aged 13-18, and proficiency in teaching non-native English speakers are highly desirable. Personal attributes such as enthusiasm for teaching, the ability to create a positive learning environment, organizational skills, and flexibility are essential.
