Job Description Title: Railway Dynamics Engineer

Location: Derby, United Kingdom

Alstom is seeking a full-time Railway Dynamics Engineer in Derby to join their team. This role involves applying project and offer development expertise in a cutting-edge field. The successful candidate will participate in advanced simulations, co-simulations, and various interdisciplinary projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply Railway Dynamics Instructions and Guidelines in Pre-Project, Project, or R&D tasks.
  • Analyze and interpret technical specifications and tests results.
  • Perform GAP Analysis and risk assessments for projects.
  • Support the development of Railway Dynamics Management Plans and TRS.
  • Execute standard Railway Dynamics simulations and support BMS and CBM activities.
  • Lead and manage R&D actions, ensuring QCD targets are met.
  • Provide support for ongoing projects and revenue services.
  • Collaborate with transverse teams to develop new processes and technologies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of methodologies and guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree (MSc) or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in Railway Dynamics departments or R&D research.
  • Proficiency in MultiBody System software (Simpack, VAMPIRE, or others).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical vibrations, track-vehicle dynamics, and mechanical design.
  • Advanced skills in Matlab/SIMULINK and knowledge of sensors used in Mechatronics.
  • Understanding of Railway Dynamics International Standards.
  • Excellent management, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive and strategic vision for leading R&D actions.
