About the Role:
The Security Detection Rule Management team at Elastic is focused on enhancing detection and alerting features within the Elastic Security product. Your role will involve improving user experience for managing detection rules, monitoring their health and performance, distributing prebuilt rules, customizing them, resolving conflicts via automated strategies, and leveraging Generative AI for workflow enhancements. The team operates remotely across multiple countries and collaborates using tools like Zoom, Google Docs, GitHub, and Slack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write, test, and maintain high-quality TypeScript code for both client-side and server-side.
  • Develop features and UI workflows for detection engineering use cases.
  • Create Node.js APIs and background tasks for data searches and manipulations.
  • Develop tools to enhance the development process.
  • Contribute to the Kibana codebase and engage with the Elastic community on GitHub, Slack, and forums.
  • Support the customer support team by resolving issues and answering queries.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in developing and maintaining complex software in production environments.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch and the Elastic stack is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in writing robust unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Strong focus on quality, with excellent code review skills and a keen eye for UX improvements.
  • Ability to work autonomously within a distributed team, driving projects independently and using various communication tools effectively.
