Role Overview
Ocean Healthcare is seeking an experienced female healthcare assistant to provide overnight care for a 20-year-old male with Hypermobility Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. This genetic condition results in unstable joints, requiring wheelchair assistance. He resides with his partner, young son, and service dog in a family-oriented home environment.
Key responsibilities include monitoring for seizures and offering support with the baby as needed.

Requirements
- Previous experience as a Care Assistant (experience in complex care preferred but not mandatory)
- Strong understanding of personal care, moving, and handling techniques
- Resilience, patience, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to commit to a minimum of 2-3 nights per week, up to a maximum of 4
About the Role
The care assistant will provide personalized nighttime support tailored to the needs of the individual. This includes observing for seizures, maintaining safety, and occasionally assisting with childcare tasks. Ocean Healthcare provides comprehensive training, ensuring readiness for complex care needs. New hires will shadow experienced team members until fully competent.
Shift Details: 8:30 PM – 8:30 AM

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor for potential seizures throughout the night
- Assist with mobility and handling using appropriate techniques
- Offer support with the baby if required
