The Role: Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP)
We are seeking a full-time Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Buckinghamshire CAMHS Targeted Team. CWPs play a vital role in delivering low-intensity psychological interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate low mood and anxiety. This role, part of the national Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Practitioner Programme, supports the delivery of evidence-based care as outlined in the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health.
You will be pivotal in improving accessibility to the CAMHS Getting Help Targeted Pathway. Responsibilities include assessments, developing care plans, and delivering interventions informed by cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Your work will combine 1:1 support, group interventions, and collaboration with families, carers, and education providers.
What You Will Do
- Assess mental health needs, conduct risk assessments, and create care plans.
- Deliver CBT-informed interventions for young people and their families in person and remotely.
- Collaborate with schools and other agencies to provide comprehensive care.
- Lead parent-focused interventions addressing challenging behaviours and child anxiety.
- Contribute to a whole-community approach in schools and other settings.
This hybrid role involves travel to various community bases. Applicants must hold a valid UK driving license and have access to a vehicle. Adjustments may be made under the Equality Act 2010 as needed.

Essential Requirements
- A postgraduate certificate in CYP IAPT Low-Intensity Psychological Therapies.
- Experience working with children and young people with mental health needs in community settings.
- Strong IT skills and the ability to travel between sites.
