Prescott House Community Mental Health Team has community mental health support worker jobs for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join a successful, friendly, and supportive team. This integrated service is committed to providing quality, recovery-based support to individuals with severe and enduring mental health-related difficulties within the Salford area.
The role requires a motivated individual who is flexible, creative, committed, and able to adapt positively to change. Organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and working effectively under pressure are essential.
Although professional registration is not required, experience within mental health is essential. Professional development will be supported through regular supervision and training opportunities. Staff well-being is central to the CMHT and is promoted through peer support, team-building events, reflective practice groups, training, and acupuncture.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will play a key role within the CMHT, working directly with service users as part of a multidisciplinary team that provides care, treatment, and support to individuals with functional mental illness.
The role involves supporting service users in line with clinical pathways such as the Assertive Outreach and Dual Diagnosis pathways, as outlined in the CMHT operational procedure. Short-term care periods will also be provided to help service users develop independent living skills.
Responsibilities include offering support, advice, and practical assistance to an allocated group of service users, following care plans designed to facilitate goal planning, achievement, and recovery. The role also involves supporting carers of service users and delivering a carers’ clinic to conduct carers’ assessments.
