Requirements

  • Experience in managing teams within Adult Social Care, particularly focusing on adults aged 18-65 with disabilities
  • Knowledge of Care Act Assessments, Community Deprivation of Liberty Assessments, and safeguarding practices
  • Understanding of Mental Capacity Act assessments and Best Interest decisions
  • Leadership skills to manage a diverse team and workload effectively
  • Fluency in English and the ability to communicate confidently in all spoken aspects of the role
  • Knowledge of the Care First 6 system is advantageous but not essential

About the Role

As a Team Manager within Devon County Council’s Disability Focus Team, you will lead a dedicated team supporting adults with various needs, primarily those with learning disabilities. The role involves overseeing assessments, commissioning care, and ensuring timely responses to mitigate risks. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team managing care for adults with learning disabilities
  • Oversee and conduct assessments under the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act
  • Manage safeguarding duties and ensure compliance with legal standards
  • Collaborate with Community Service Managers and other stakeholders
  • Support the team with workload management and ensure timely responses to client needs
