About the Role

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Clinical Support Worker to join the Bladder & Bowel Specialist Service. This role offers the chance to make a direct impact on patient dignity and independence by delivering personalised continence care in homes, residential settings, and clinic environments.

You will work as part of a highly experienced team, supporting registered nurses in providing safe, compassionate and effective care. With a strong focus on patient wellbeing and quality of life, this role combines hands-on support with health promotion and education for patients and carers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake patient reassessments in home and care settings.
  • Support continence care including bladder scanning, pelvic floor advice, and product use.
  • Promote health education to patients and carers to help prevent unnecessary admissions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, always ensuring patient confidentiality.
  • Assist with discharge planning and care coordination with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Support infection prevention measures and maintain safe, clean clinical environments.
  • Provide empathetic support to relatives and carers, ensuring dignity is respected at all times.

Requirements

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade A–C) or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 (or Diploma/equivalent) in Health and Social Care.
  • Experience delivering care in a healthcare or people-centred environment.
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly across a 24-hour period when required.
  • A valid driving licence and access to a car (essential for community visits).

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with continence care or bladder and bowel management.
  • Evidence of competence in specialist care tasks.
