Job Description
OSJCT is currently seeking dedicated Domiciliary Care Assistants to join their team at Orchard Meadows in Banbury, Oxfordshire. This role offers a flexible bank contract, providing the opportunity to choose when to work based on individual availability. Bank contracts do not guarantee hours, allowing for work to fit around personal commitments, such as studies, another job, or family care. This role is ideal for those looking to gain experience in the care sector, seeking flexible working hours, or partially retired individuals wanting to stay active in the field.

As a Domiciliary Care Assistant, the primary responsibilities include:

  • Daily Routine Assistance: Helping clients with their daily routines, such as getting dressed, personal hygiene, and mobility.
  • Personal Care: Providing assistance with personal care tasks like bathing, toileting, and grooming.
  • Companionship: Offering companionship and emotional support to clients, ensuring they feel valued and listened to.
  • Household Duties: Supporting clients with light household duties such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Independence Support: Encouraging and assisting clients to maintain their independence within the comfort of their own apartments.

The role is based at Orchard Meadows, an extra care housing scheme consisting of 40 self-contained one or two-bedroom apartments. Each apartment is designed to support independent living while providing access to communal areas for socializing. The care team is available 24/7 to assist clients with daily activities and ensure their well-being.

Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Team Player: Enjoys working as part of a team and contributing to a supportive work environment.
  • Willingness to Learn: Keen to undergo training and development to excel in providing high-quality care.
  • Care Experience: Previous experience in care is beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.

Compensation

  • Pay Rate: £12.54 per hour, with additional enhancements for weekend work and NVQ qualifications.
  • Weekend Pay: Higher rates of pay for weekend shifts.
