Job Description

Albany Nursing Home is seeking a dedicated Health Care Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will work under the management of a Registered Nurse or Home Manager, assisting with various procedures to ensure the well-being and care of residents.

Responsibilities Include:

• Assisting with the care of residents within the scope of your competence.
• Reporting to senior staff on residents’ conditions as needed.
• Helping residents maintain their dignity and individuality.
• Participating in the treatment and rehabilitation of residents.
• Safeguarding residents’ property.
• Performing general household duties to promote residents’ welfare.
• Complying with the Home’s Operational Policy and Procedures as outlined in the Quality Manual.
• Assisting with residents’ meals, ensuring they are well-presented and at the correct temperature, and encouraging adequate dietary intake.
• Being familiar with fire procedures and protocols.
• Reporting all accidents and incidents to the Person-in-Charge.
• Adhering to requirements regarding dress, behavior, punctuality, and attendance as per the Disciplinary and Grievance Procedure, Disciplinary Rules, and Contract of Employment.
• Informing the Manager if any Home Policy is ill-defined or unworkable.
• Attending required training courses or studies.
• Implementing any Quality initiatives developed by the Company.
• Providing proof of double vaccination against Covid-19.
