About GP Practice in Wales
Their team ethos embraces generalist care in the community. They place great effort in making General Practice accessible again, using a digital platform (AccuRx) as a flexible interactive way of connecting patients and staff. Their ethos also includes the community in strategic decision-making. They have a strong clinical team of 2 GP partners, 5 salaried GPs, alongside a varied Multidisciplinary team. They are the only practice in North Wales to employ their own Physiotherapist and Physicians Associate to complement their expanding team.

Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Maths & English GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Experience of working in a health care setting

About the Role
Working under the supervision of their Nurse Lead and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. The position will be across two sites: Plas Menai Health Centre and Gyffin & Llys Meddyg Surgery.
Key Responsibilities
- New patient health checks
- ECG recording
- Phlebotomy
- Chaperoning duties
- Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
- Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
- Stock rotation
- Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients’ health and well-being
- Administer influenza vaccinations to adults under a PSD
- Administer pneumococcal injections
- Administer B12 injections
- Smoking cessation advice
They embrace new ideas and concepts from creating multi-disciplinary teams to Digital Triage. They have a strong team of clinicians and administration staff who care about General Practice within their community. They have weekly clinical meetings where all team members discuss what matters. They are a teaching practice including medical, nursing and GP trainees. They are an active research practice, with strong links to Bangor and Cardiff University, The University of Liverpool and Imperial College London, and opportunities to participate in research projects.
