Job Description

The health care support worker will join the multidisciplinary team at the Mother and Baby Unit, working on a 24-hour shift basis under the supervision of a qualified nurse.

Responsibilities include

  • Providing day-to-day support to mothers and babies, following prescribed nursing interventions from treatment plans.
  • Assisting in the delivery of the unit’s therapeutic program.
  • Liaising closely with extended multidisciplinary team members.
  • Assisting with enhanced engagement and observation.
  • Accompanying service users and their infants on community trips.
  • Contributing to ongoing service development and improvement.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum L2 or L3 qualification in Health & Social Care or commitment to achieve within 6 months of commencement. Equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience will also be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience in care/support services.
  • Interest in working with women in the perinatal period.
  • Demonstrated alignment with Trust values: Caring, Simple, Integrity.
  • Evidence of lived experience, caring, or volunteering experience.
