About the Role:

As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will be instrumental in conducting human challenge clinical trials. Your responsibilities will include welcoming volunteers, conducting clinical assessments, and providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the screening clinic. This role is central to maintaining the well-being of our volunteers throughout the study process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Volunteer Interaction: Greet and assist volunteers attending their appointments.
  • Coordination and Administration: Track and file case notes, handle queries, type clinic notes, and manage general correspondence.
  • Clinical Procedures: Perform non-invasive study-specific assessments, screen suitable subjects, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Daily Operations: Prepare and plan daily activities, assist in clinical area management, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and security guidelines.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Maintain adherence to internal policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Study Protocols, ensuring the highest standards of ICH/GCP.

What We’re Looking For:

We value excellent customer service skills and a strong background in healthcare. Essential qualifications include GCSE Grade A-C in Maths and English or equivalent, proficient IT skills, and a keen attention to detail. Knowledge of ICH-GCP and regulatory standards is also required. A positive, team-oriented attitude and the ability to manage workloads effectively are crucial.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Immediate Life Support certification
  • Experience in the UK healthcare system, ideally within a hospital setting
  • Previous experience in clinical research
  • A degree in Biological Science
  • Fundamental knowledge of clinical care

Since the role involves direct contact with volunteers and blood sampling, vaccination against Hepatitis B is required, and a seasonal flu vaccination is strongly recommended.
