About the Role:

Ready to make a real difference in people’s lives? The Emergency Department at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for caring, supportive individuals to join their team as Healthcare Assistants. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill job – it’s a chance to be part of something meaningful and rewarding.

Working in the bustling Emergency Department, you’ll be right in the thick of the action. One day you might be in Majors, the next in Resuscitation – variety is the spice of life here! You’ll play a crucial role in supporting patients during their most vulnerable moments, helping them feel comfortable and cared for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist nurses and doctors in providing patient care
  • Monitor patients’ conditions and report any changes
  • Help with personal care tasks, ensuring patients’ comfort and dignity
  • Prepare and maintain a clean, safe environment
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team
  • Complete the Care Certificate training program

Requirements

  • GCSE Maths & English, or equivalent
  • NVQ 2 in Health Care, or equivalent (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a care setting (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Compassionate nature and genuine desire to help others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends
