The Role: Maintenance Assistant

Pennine Care NHS FT is on the lookout for confident DIY enthusiasts to join their Estates Team as Maintenance Assistants. This role is perfect for those with a knack for fixing things and a passion for maintaining healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside multi-skilled technicians across various building trades
  • Provide comprehensive specialist engineering services to wards and departments
  • Ensure compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures
  • Contribute to a multi-disciplined maintenance environment

What You’ll Need

  • NVQ Level 2 in Electrical, Building or Mechanical Services (or equivalent experience)
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Experience in Electrical or Mechanical Services
  • Familiarity with using step ladders and scaffolding
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to complete in-house training

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience working in a hospital environment
  • Computer literacy and keyboard skills
  • Confined Spaces Certificate
  • City & Guilds in PAT Testing
  • Experience using fall arrest systems for working at heights
