This position involves applying Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) strategies to reduce challenging behaviours and enhance the quality of life for these individuals. Key Responsibilities of a Positive Behavioural Support Worker:
- Provide direct support to individuals with complex behavioural needs in various settings.
- Implement personalized PBS plans, adhering to best practices and guidelines.
- Assist individuals in developing and maintaining daily living, communication, and social interaction skills.
- Monitor and document progress, making necessary adjustments to support strategies.
- Collaborate with the PBS team to develop and review individual support plans.
- Work closely with family members, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure consistent and holistic support.
- Maintain accurate records of individual progress and behavioural incidents.
To excel as a Positive Behavioural Support Worker, prior experience with individuals who have complex behavioural needs is preferred. An understanding of positive behavioural support, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations are also important. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others are crucial traits for success in this role. A valid driver’s license and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, are required.
The Positive Behavioral Support Worker position is available as a full-time, part-time, or permanent role, with pay starting from £13.30 per hour. Benefits include additional leave, casual dress, a health and wellbeing program, and UK visa sponsorship for eligible candidates.
