Job Description
Devon County Council is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Residential Support Worker to join their highly dedicated and welcoming teams. This role involves supporting children and young people with disabilities in their Homes, which are registered with Ofsted, in line with their individual needs and care plans. The goal is to provide a home-from-home experience and promote the life experiences and independence skills of the children.

Responsibilities include

  • Supporting children and young people to achieve their personal wishes and goals.
  • Being aspirational about the outcomes of children.
  • Creating a fun and positive atmosphere.
  • Organizing and participating in activities.
  • Being proactive and innovative in seeking new methods to engage.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to engage and build positive relationships with children and young people.
  • Remaining calm in challenging situations.
  • Ability to implement boundaries.
  • Ability to be part of a team.
  • Able to adapt and respond quickly.
  • Empathy, emotional resilience, and self-awareness.

Compensation

  • Salary range: £24,702 – £26,421 per annum, plus enhancements (up to £4,000 per year).
  • Starting rate: £12.80 per hour, rising to £13.69 per hour.
  • Overnight rate: £17.07 per hour, rising to £18.25.
  • Saturday rate: £19.20 per hour, rising to £20.54.
  • Sunday and bank holidays rate: £25.60 per hour, rising to £27.38.
