Requirements
- Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration
- Post-registration experience in sexual health or HIV at Band 5/6 level
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of STI management and HIV care
- Ability to administer medication under PGDs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable:
- Specialist training in sexual health, HIV, or family planning
- Experience in health promotion, outreach, and working with young people

About the Role
As a Senior Staff Nurse in Sexual Health & HIV, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, providing expert clinical care across John Hunter and Kobler outpatient clinics. You will manage a caseload of patients autonomously, deliver nurse-led clinics, and oversee the implementation of PGD protocols. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to nurse-led Klick services, enhancing your HIV expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
- Coordinating and managing clinic operations
- Ensuring adherence to clinical governance and infection control protocols
- Supervising and supporting junior staff and learners
- Leading health promotion initiatives and outreach programs
- Participating in research and implementing evidence-based practices
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Leadership: Oversee patient care and manage complex clinical cases
- Team Management: Coordinate staffing, rotas, and ensure safe practice
- Education & Development: Mentor students and staff, delivering training as needed
- Governance & Safety: Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and adhere to CQC standards
- Patient Care: Lead clinics, including STI and HIV management, and health promotion
