Sr Network Engineer
TEKsystems is seeking a skilled Sr Network Engineer to join their team. This role offers the flexibility of remote work and presents an exciting opportunity for professionals with a strong background in network and telecommunications operations.
Description
The Sr. IT Engineer Network and Telecommunications at TEKsystems will play a crucial role in network and telecommunications operations, contributing to the resolution of complex issues, designing innovative solutions for strategic projects, and mentoring team members. They will be responsible for setting, managing, and maintaining company-wide deployment of network and telecommunications standards, while collaborating with other IT teams and business units to implement technical solutions aligned with the infrastructure strategy.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in deploying new systems and operational processes.
- Develop detailed implementation and contingency plans.
- Continuously improve current state through performance tuning and troubleshooting complex problems.
- Provide advanced network and telecommunications administration and support for daily operations.
- Analyze, evaluate, and recommend options on existing or proposed network and telecommunications technologies.
- Collaborate with external service providers to achieve operational excellence.
- Conduct research and evaluation of new enterprise technologies and enhancements.
- Participate in the strategy, management, and governance of IT process and operations.
- Provide mentorship and training for team members to advance group skills and capabilities.
- Drive the creation and maintenance of documentation of network and telecommunication services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Established technical knowledge and hands-on experience in enterprise administration of network and telecom systems.
- Expertise in routing and switching technologies including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VLAN, VTP.
- Proficiency in firewalls administration, WAN environment, wireless networks, and telecom voice services.
- Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, SMB, Subnetting, NetFlow, Cisco DNA, monitoring tools, and network automation.
- Excellent organizational, technical, and business communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing technologies.
