Job Summary

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated Health Care Assistant to join their rapid intervention team within the community urgent care service. This team responds to patients requiring urgent assessments within the city of Wolverhampton. The service works with patients at home, helping them avoid hospital admissions during acute episodes of ill health and responding to telecare users in need of assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting clinicians with patient assessments and undertaking simple clinical and therapeutic procedures, such as taking clinical observations, obtaining samples, and providing catheter care and venepuncture.
  • Responding to telecare alarms, including assisting patients who have fallen (without injury) and those who require welfare checks.
  • Providing holistic care to patients in their homes, ensuring they remain comfortable in familiar surroundings.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (essential).
  • Experience in healthcare, preferably within a community healthcare setting (desirable).
  • Experience in caring for acutely unwell patients (desirable).
