Job Overview

This position involves working as part of an established Sarcoma Nursing Team, with cross-site responsibilities as a key member of the multi-disciplinary Sarcoma team. Under the supervision of Band 7 leads and specific Consultant leads, the role involves managing patients’ physical, psychological, and social needs within their care pathway.

Main Duties of the Job

Initially, the postholder will be directed by the team until professional confidence is demonstrated to operate autonomously. Surgical experience and basic knowledge of oncology treatments are preferable but not essential. Good communication skills are vital, particularly when delivering difficult news.

The postholder will also be required to act as a clinical supervisor to peers and provide specialist clinical advice to tumour-specific cancer multidisciplinary teams, as required by DOH standards.
