Requirements:

  • Registered Dietitian with experience in Communication Skills
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload, including weight management, diabetes, nutrition support, and enteral feeding
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
  • Familiarity with supporting people under a holistic health and social care model
  • Ability to work closely with various health and social care partners, including private and voluntary sectors

About the Role:
The Specialist Learning Disability Dietitian will be an integral part of the Community Learning Disabilities Team, focusing on improving the health and well-being of individuals with learning disabilities across Leeds. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team that includes Dietitians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Nurses, Psychologists, and Medics. The Dietitian will manage their own caseload, addressing a range of dietetic needs and working closely with health and social care partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a diverse caseload of dietetic needs, including weight management, diabetes, and nutrition support
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care
  • Delivering training and education sessions for service users, carers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Participating in clinical and managerial supervision, AHP forums, and Trust-wide dietetic meetings
  • Contributing to service development and research activities within the Trust
