The department manages approximately 124,000 patient visits annually, including 18,000 paediatric cases and 700 major trauma patients. The Preston site serves as the Regional Major Trauma Centre for the North West, with frequent Air Ambulance arrivals for patients requiring specialized care.

- Diploma in Nursing
- 6 to 12 months of post-registration experience
- NMC-recognized Mentorship qualification or willingness to pursue within 18 months

- Ability to recognize an acutely unwell patient (e.g., AIMS Course, BLS/ILS)
