Main Duties of the Job
The Band 5 Nurse in the Discharge Lounge promotes patient transfers by liaising with staff across hospital areas. Duties include:
- Supporting ward areas in patient transfers to the lounge.
- Administering intravenous antibiotics, dressing changes, glucose checks, and essential medication.
- Verifying discharge medications with patients and ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Delivering safe and efficient discharge processes.
This role contributes to enhancing patient experience and flow while upholding high standards of care. Staff nurses are expected to work compassionately and professionally, implementing evidence-based care, supporting clinical initiatives, and fostering a safe and comfortable environment for patients.

Qualifications/Training
